We welcome children from the age of four.
The school is single form entry with the optimum size for each class set at twenty.
We are a non-selective school so your child will not be required to sit an entrance exam before being offered a place.
The first stage in the admissions process is to visit the school and meet our Headteacher. You will also be given a tour of the school by pupils from Form VI.
Following a visit to St Philomena’s we will invite your child to join us for a Taster Day to initiate the application process.
Your child will join their current year group and be allocated an existing pupil to accompany them throughout the day.
We will ask you to complete some initial paperwork to ensure we can attend to any specific medical or other needs while your child is in our care.
Offers are made at the Headteacher’s discretion. Conditional offers are usually made within five working days of a successful Taster Day. Successful applicants will be sent a letter confirming details of the offer. If any potential additional requirements have been identified, provision and any associated costs will be discussed with parents at this point.
Once your child has received an offer of a place at St Philomena’s you will receive an Acceptance Form which you need to complete and return to us along with a refundable deposit of £400 to secure the place. We will also need to see a copy of your child’s birth certificate and their latest School Report.
Where places are currently unavailable, you will be advised that the your child’s name will be added to the waiting list. The Acceptance Pack will also contain other forms which need to be completed and returned to us before they start.
